Cartography for Solar Energy Performance Valuation in European Regions
European Commission has published a new map showing the PV (photovoltaic) solar energy potential of various regions of Europe. PV solar cells transform sunlight into electricity directly. PVGIS (Photovoltaic Geographical Information System), developed by DG Joint Research Centre, the internal scientific service of EU, lets users to predict the performance of solar energy at any particular area in Europe. The new PVGIS is a critical tool for the development of new solar power plants like the one incepted on March 30, 2007 in Seville, a city in Southern Spain. This is the initial commercial concentrating solar power plant in Europe that has been jointly financed with EU research funds.Power generation from renewable solar energy will cut the dependence on polluting power stations that run on fossil fuels, thereby chipping in to national and EU endeavors to use home-grown renewable energy to obviate climate change.Alongwith the map and interactive service, the PVGIS provides a glut of information on the development of PV technology, like the statistical data on its contribution to total national power consumption in each EU Member State, updated status on research on PVs, and links to worldwide records of solar technology and data. The interactive information service map enables very precise calculation of the volume of energy that can be produced in any specific region in Europe and its neighboring areas. This tool is of immense importance as the European Commission seeks to augment the share of renewable sources of energy in its total energy consumption to 20% by 2020.According to the RNCOS report Photovoltaics A high potential market opportunity (2005-2010), in EU, from 2001 to 2005, photovoltaic system installation increased by six times to reach around 1.8 GW collective installed capacity. The growth prospects for European market seem pretty good. According to EU, the goal set for the photovoltaic market is 3000 MWp through 2010 end.The market research report puts forth the detailed overview on photovoltaic technology with focus on various solar cell materials, solar cell structures, and applications. Country-wise performance of the technology has been analyzed coupled with future projections and industry analysis. The number of people moving in America is increasing year after year. In the year 2005, an estimated 46 million families in America moved. Moving is not as simple as walking out of an old home and into another; it entails lots and lots of pre-planning and deciding. The most cumbersome task facing a person who is on the verge moving is how to move all the household furniture and valuables.Moving trucks are the answer. They come in all different sizes, and you can either do it your self or hire a moving van company. Moving companies have trucks that have extremely high horsepower engines and a large container-kind of chamber in the rear to hold a household of furniture and valuables. There are several moving companies that can handle each and every aspect moving. A family who hires a moving company has to sign a contract, and based on that contract, the moving truck will arrive, pack all furniture carefully, store valuables in padded boxes, and move the contents to its new destination. There are times when moving trucks will move more than one household, especially if the truck is not entirely full. As they travel across the country, they will drop off furniture in certain locations and pick more up in other locations. You can find many reputable moving companies on the Internet, or check your local yellow pages. Before finalizing on a particular moving company, always check their credentials. Also, get some idea about the length of time it will take for you to receive your furniture.Moving Trucks provides detailed information on Moving Trucks, Moving Truck Rentals, Moving Truck Companies, Moving Truck Advertising and more. Affiliate Programs Explained
Affiliate programs are a type of partnership between a seller and an advertiser.
The advertiser directs visitors to a seller's website and for this the advertiser receives a percentage of the revenue generated from the visitors coming from the advertiser. The advertiser is said to be an affiliate of the seller. The percentage paid by the seller to the affiliate is set by the seller and varies depending on the type of products, the profit margin on the products sold and how keen the seller is to promote his or her products through affiliates. Percentages anywhere between 10% and 75% are common. The advantage for the seller includes additional sales and that the seller knows exactly what margin he or she will have on products sold to visitors coming from affiliates. If the seller markets his or her products through advertising using sponsored links, banners, text ads or similar, the seller does not know before starting a campaign what number of sales will be generated per dollar spent on advertising. The seller thus does not know if the campaign pays off or not. With sales generated from affiliates the seller knows exactly what percentage of revenue from a sale goes to the affiliate and therefore knows exactly how much is left for the seller. A seller who offers an affiliate program can have hundreds or even thousands of affiliates. For the affiliate participation in an affiliate program allows the affiliate to make money without having a product to sell. For the affiliate, revenue can be generated simply from attracting visitors. The affiliate does not need to worry about procuring or shipping products or about providing any kind of support to the buyer. The affiliate has a wide range of choices for how to attract visitors. In a common setup, the affiliate has a website from which visitors can be sent to the seller's website. The affiliate may also have a blog which generates so much traffic that it pays of to direct visitors to a seller's website. A blog can be created for free and so is the choice of many affiliates. Finally, an affiliate may direct traffic to a seller's website by advertising using banners, text ads or sponsored links as available through Google's AdWords, Overture or similar services. If the affiliate attracts visitors from such advertising only, the affiliate does not need to create a website or blog and so does not need to create any content for such.Affiliate programs and paying of commissions to the affiliate can be supported by third parties or be handled directly between the seller and the affiliate. If paying of commission is handled directly between seller and affiliate, the affiliate normally needs to sign up for the affiliate program on the seller's website. In case of third parties handling payment of commission it is common that no agreement needs to be set up between the affiliate and the seller. The third party however will then have separate agreements with the seller and with the affiliate. Commissions are normally paid by cheque but in some cases it is paid by PayPal or wire transfer.Technically affiliate programs are normally supported so a visitor's IP address is recorded when the visitor follows a link provided by the affiliate to the seller's website. If a purchase is made and payment is collected, the visitor's IP address is determined again, and if it matches that recorded when a link was followed, the commission can be paid instantly. In some cases a "cookie" is stored on a visitor's computer when a link is followed and this is used to identify the source of the visitor. In short, affiliate programs allow sellers and affiliates to share the revenue generated for sales from sellers' websites and can generate considerable income for both parties.About the author:

Coping with Angry People
I often work as a professional coach to executives, physicians, lawyers and others. One of the issues that frequently comes up in coaching is how best to cope with angry bosses, coworkers,or clients who suddenly or repeatedly appear. Skill in dealing with such people is no small matter – depending on our skillfulness, encountering and angry person can be a minor bump in the road or can upset us for the rest of the day. If we lose our balance, not only is it much less pleasant to be inside our own skins, but our effectiveness at completing tasks and communicating with others can be substantially diminished. The good news is that there are a few easily remembered steps that anyone can make use of with a little practice and powerful results. When beginning to deal with an angry person, the first step is always to listen. This is done with eye contact, but very few words, until the initial wave of angry energy pauses for the first time. During that interval, listen for the factual content of what that person thinks is their concern, while letting the emotional content wash by without "hooking" you. Don't put much effort into sharing information at this point. The person who is very angry is not in a state where they can absorb much of anything you have to say, even if they would benefit from hearing it. They may often misinterpret your quick verbal response or problem-solving as a way of getting rid of them and their needs.A great metaphor to hold in mind as you listen during this first
step is that of a great ocean wave crashing over you as you stand in the surf, or perhaps a volcano erupting with hot rock and ash. There is no point in trying to shout over the noise until the initial outburst is complete, or become upset that this event is
all about you, even if the angry person would have you believe that at the time. When the pause in their verbal torrent finally comes, briefly mirror the factual content with the goal of letting the other person know that you've heard the core of their complaint accurately. This can sound something like: "So if I heard you correctly, you're saying …"or "What I hear you saying is this …", but you should always use your own judgment in choosing language that sounds natural to each situation. Even better, the mirroring statement can be preceded by first asking permission to confirm
you heard, and/or a finishing question asking if your understanding is accurate. This might sound something like: "Can I make sure I heard you correctly?" Rest assured
that the answer to this question will always be "yes". This person wants to be heard! Understand that you are teaching two concepts to the angry person at this point: that you have heard the essence of their statement, and that you have not moved into anger yourself. You have remained sane in the presence of their unbalanced state, and are not becoming their enemy. There is magic built into what you have just accomplished in justa minute or so of time and a few simple words. You have managed to share with someone who is feeling attacked and vulnerable (and who is barely able to listen to anyone) that not
only are you not angry in response to their anger, but that you have actually understood what they are upset about accurately.Furthermore, if you asked and were given permission to make a mirroring statement to prove you heard them correctly,
you have already made and kept a successful contract with them, giving you credibility in their mind. You now established a relationship that has value to the person that is angry. Very likely they have aired their grievances with individuals
before you who did not listen well or became angry in return, and who did their best to pass the buck of dealing with the angry person. With just this first step, you are shifting the mental image the angry person holds of you from being the enemy like all
the rest to a becoming an ally in getting their needs met. There is still work to do, but in one move you have done the biggest part of defusing the interaction.Timothy Dey, M.D. is a speaker and educator who makes a unique combination of educational assets and life experiences available to people through his coaching, consulting, teaching, writing, and workshops. Gift Wrapping Paper - Bulk Wrapping Papers
Got a gift or box that needs wrapping? Sometimes its hard to know which paper is right for the job. Papers that can be used to give a natural look to gift wrapping are so called because of their natural color. Common looking and inexpensive papers like newsprint, butcher and craft papers are usually thought of as protective rather than decorative. But these utilitarian papers work very well with certain art techniques and may be the answer for gift as well as bulk wrapping. There are countless ways to transform this type of utility paper into wrapping paper and can be the answer for large, bulky gifts. Stamping and stenciling are two that will work very well with this type of paper. Mix some colors and go to work, experimenting first on scrap paper until you are satisfied. Earth colors like reds, greens and burnt oranges will do just fine. Pull out some drawers and start looking for things suitable for stamping. Try a piece of corrugated cardboard or other patterns that can be used. Handy potatoes and erasers, of course, can be used to make your own shapes. If you are new to this, try cutting shapes with open areas in your stamped creations that can be later hand tinted or filled in with colored pencil. Making a two-part stamp is another nice technique. Printing say, adjoining flower and leaf in different colors.Newsprint is rather delicate and you will find that it tears easily- so handle gently when wrapping. Its not good with water either. Chalk will do well but will need a coat of clear fix to prevent smudging. Newspapers, especially foreign language along with sports and comic pages, can give an unusual effect. Add your own word balloons or translations for fun.Craft paper can be useful for wrapping gifts. Similar in texture to newsprint but a heavier weight, it can create a nice effect. You are probably familiar with this brownish colored paper used to wrap postal packages including bulk mailings. More sturdy than newsprint, it works well for fall and winter wraps. Some embellishments just naturally work with this type of paper. Pine cones, acorns and fall leaves are a natural. Leaves can be traced on colored paper and lightly shaded with spray paint or colored pencil for a nice effect. Orange, green and burgundy make nice accent colors. Look around for other possibilities. Nature offers many opportunities for being creative. Take advantage of these abundant, low-cost offerings. Or, be your own postal carrier and embellish your gift with exotic handmade stamps and cancellations. Abundant images of imaginary birds, colorful seashells, ocean-bound steamships and planes can be used to suggest the exotic and make your wrap a fun project. Butcher paper, in tan and white is another fall natural that is sturdy and usually sold in wide rolls for large bulky boxes. Sometimes found in individual sheets or bundles. A favorite of retailers of glass ware and china, its relative smooth surface takes many techniques like stencil and stamping. Be creative - go natural. Gift wrapping is a time to be creative. We offer lots of examples that will add to the anticipation and delight of any gift giving occasion.
