We must do something to kick the addiction to foreign oil and we need to do it soon. China is coming online and will be quite thirsty for this commodity driving up the World prices. We have already giving tax credits for consumers who buy hybrid cars, subsidized bio fuels and bio diesels. How can we move the ball down this field faster? Well here are some shot from the hip thoughts with a 5-minute consideration on this;· Reduce Federal Taxes by 7.5 cents per gallon on Flex Fuels or 15% or more ethanol blends or biodiesel blends.· Tax Credit one time of $40,000 to gas station owners per location for converting 2 or more pumps· Reduce over the Road Truck Taxes by $2,500 per year if they ran Flex Fuels, blended fuels or straight bio dieselThis means consumers will choose this. Gives leg up on competition, which sell bio fuel, flex fuels or bio diesel. It means gas stations demand it and refineries will make it due to this demand. Also it pushes supply ramp up and increases demand simultaneously, as these cars are sold into the market.Since some Oil Companies are vertically integrated that is to say own stations and refineries, it serves them also. Well that ought to solve that problem for this year's goal. But it will sure take a lot to produce that much flex fuel or bio fuels, as that is quite a bit of fuel, this nation uses lots of it.
