They make a decision to make a change - a big change. Sometimes it's about moving up in the world, like finding a new and better home. Sometimes the change is about pursing a dream, like taking a passion for art and turning it into a career. And sometimes the change involves a mental shift to become a better person, like learning to overcome anger. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;No matter what big and exciting change is on the horizon, we can sometimes find that our impulsivity has us not only wanting - but expecting - the change to happen much quicker than is actually possibly. We have unrealistic expectations of what we are able to accomplish when. When this happens, disappointment, lack of motivation, and even feelings of failure, are quite common. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When one of my clients finds them self in a situation like this, I take them through a visualization exercise that I call &quot;The Temple.&quot; The following directions will allow you to use this exercise in your own life.&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Temple: A Visualization Exercise&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 1: Pick the Goal&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Pick a goal that you are excited about - a change you really want to make. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 2: Relax&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Sit back, relax, and close your eyes. Focus on your breath going in and out, and allow worries and concerns to be breathed away...just for a little bit.&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 3: Visualize a Temple&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Create - in your mind - the vision of a beautiful, peaceful temple. It is your temple, and it can be anywhere. It can look any way you like. Get a very vivid image of this temple in your mind.&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The temple is your goal. When you reach your goal, you will reach your temple. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Connect with your goal. What will it feel like when you reach that goal? Think of the emotions you will experience. Think about what it will feel like to be in that temple.&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 4: Visualize Your Steps&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Now imagine that your temple is being raised into the sky. As your temple rises, stairs appear. The stairs to your temple are steps to your goal.&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Ask yourself, what are the steps that I need to climb in order to reach my goal? What has to happen in order for me to reach that goal?&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Are there any steps on the way to your goal that you have already achieved? If so, visualize yourself climbing the stairs to your temple.&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Step 5: Check-in With Yourself&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do this exercise on a regular basis. Each time you take a step towards your goal, visualize yourself climbing a stair to your temple. &lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Understand that some steps will be easy to climb, and some will be a little harder and will take more time. Even though it may seem like you've been working a long time and not getting anywhere on your goal, don't lose sight of the fact that if you are climbing the stairs, then you are making progress.&lt;p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When you get impatient and frustrated about your progress, remember that life in itself is a journey. Many executives should considering blogging. It helps publicize
company news as well as executive viewpoints and opinions, adds

When I was growing up, the only way to raise a true 'world denizen' was at an exorbitantly priced Swiss boarding school. The children grow up just as world-savvy and sophisticated -- and actually know their own parents! Still for the do-it-yourselfer, a few tips can smooth the way.The most common question people ask me is "How do I raise a bilingual child the best way?" "Easy, just talk to them!" is my tongue-in-cheek response. It seems almost impossible to imagine the baby transforming into a communicating creature, let alone one conversant in several languages. Although the miraculous progress from cooing to speech occurs in exactly the same fashion whether it transpires in one or in several languages, the practicalities are different.Here are the first steps to raising your very own polyglot tot.1. Family agreement: Even though agreement within the family is perhaps the most essential ingredient, I am sometimes asked, "What do I do if my partner doesn't want me speaking to our child in a language he doesn't understand?" An insecure spouse may fear being excluded from 'the secret language' between the other parent and the child. Discuss and compromise. It is very important that couples find some solution that is acceptable to both parents as well as beneficial to the child.2. Enthusiastic, yet realistic: Once the idea of two languages has settled in, many people consider adding more. Usually the number of languages spoken within the household is enough for the child to absorb, but it's actually possible to successfully introduce as many as four languages simultaneously -- provided you can offer enough exposure and need for each one. Still, research suggests that a child needs to be exposed to a language 30% of his waking time to actively speak it, and since waking time is a finite quantity, so, too, is language acquisition.3. The practical plan: Next, you need to make sure you have a plan. Agree on who speaks what language to whom and then stick to it. There are endless variations on the two most successful language systems. The most common involves one person who always speaks to the child in the 'foreign' language. Anyone who is spending a significant amount of time with the child can function as this primary speaker. The second common language system is where the whole family speaks in the foreign language. To add another language beyond those already spoken within the family, or if your family doesn't speak any foreign languages, you'll need to provide an outside source like an immersion program, a nanny or an au pair.4. Get together: Building a support network is probably the most underestimated success factor, so find others who are raising their children to speak your language. You'll benefit from their knowledge and be able to share both your doubts and your triumphs. It also ensures future play dates that will provide your child with the ultimate language teachers -- other kids. Books, music, movies, and toys in your minority language are the most obvious ways to boost your child's exposure, but there is also an amazing range of other household items such as place mats, tableware, posters, etc.5 Be patient: Raising multilingual children requires patience, and there are going to be times when doubt sneaks in. As with most aspects of parenting, it's a long-term commitment and there will be ups and downs. But remember, that's happening to the parents of the monolingual children too! Don't worry if your child doesn't speak his multiple languages as quickly or as adeptly as his peers. Instead focus upon his successes and marvel at the development of his little brain. Always praise, praise, and then praise some more! Know that when your child says, "I want a hug" in your language, you'll almost cry with pride. At that moment, it won't matter that it took some extra effort or that you had to wait a bit for the result.And, hey, remember, you're not alone. Bud Selig, National Baseball Commissioner, is reviewing facts never before studied in Kling's original contract. Based on the findings in Bogen's book, Johnny Kling, A Baseball Biography, (published by McFarland & Company) new light is being shed on why Johnny Kling was kept from Baseball's Hall of Fame.History's records stated that Johnny Kling violated his 1909 contract because he was holding out for a larger salary. Not true. Bogen's book reveals the real reason why Kling needed an indefinite leave of absence in 1909: he needed to oversee management of his billiard emporium. Kling was a world famous billiards champion, and led many successful business ventures.Kling was given verbal and written leave by Charles Webb Murphy, owner of the Chicago Cubs, on March 4th, 1909. March 4th was a key date. According to Kling's contract, he had to report to spring training forty days prior to April 15th, which would have been on March 6th. So, when Murphy gave Kling his indefinite leave on March 4th, Kling was legally within his rights to be granted time off.The Seventh Annual Report of the National Baseball Commission, issued in 1911, will show that President Murphy confused the Commission when he gave Kling a second later leave of absence. They could not explain it. The new Johnny Kling book offers a reasonable speculation as to Murphy's actions. The report was signed by Garry Herrmann, Chairman of the National Baseball Commission and by Thomas A. Lynch, President of the National League.After Kling passed away, in an attempt to help him get into the Hall of Fame, Kling's wife wrote to all the media and stated that her husband wasn't really Jewish. The act only served to erase Kling's name from Jewish history books, but never brought him his rightful place in the Hall of Fame."We're grateful to Bud Selig," says grandson John Kling. "He is wonderful in being willing to have my grandfather's records reviewed. We know that when this is done, it will be seen that the National Baseball Commission erred when it ruled that my grandfather violated his 1909 contract.""He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame," states Bogen, whose findings uncovered the truth. "There was no one like him in history. No one could steal a base off Johnny Kling, not even Ty Cobb. How to Tune Your Model Airplane Engine

Tuning is simply adjusting your engine for peak performance. The
factory-fresh settings may be a good starting point. However,
you may need to compensate for higher altitudes, or for
temperature changes with the seasons. Changes in fuel type or
engine wear, may also require a tune-up. Relatively more fuel to
air is known as a "rich" mixture, while the opposite is known as
a "lean" mixture. A lean mixture generates more power, but also
generates more heat. Too much heat could damage the engine. A
rich mixture generates less power and less heat. Too rich and
the engine might quit while you're flying.

The popular twin-needle carburetor has two needle valves. The
high speed needle controls the total fuel flow into the engine,
and affects the engine's behavior from half to full throttle.
The low speed needle tends to have more of an effect from half
throttle down to idle. Both the low and high speed needles can
be richened (counterclockwise turning), or leaned (clockwise
turning). Tuning Procedure: 1) Start with the factory
recommended needle valve settings. 2) Start the engine. 3) With
the engine or aircraft secured, open the throttle to full.

4) Lean the high speed needle slowly and watch and listen: Too
rich: lots of smoke, low pitched sound Leaner: reduced smoke,
sound starts changing to higher pitch Leaner still: little
smoke, max rpm reached Too lean: very little smoke, max rpm can
be heard falling off. Open the needle valve up 20 or 30 degrees
from this point. If you have a tachometer, open the needle about
300 rpm less than max.

5) Still at high throttle, perform the pinch test. Briefly pinch
then release the fuel tube going into the carb. If the engine
momentarily speeds up, then slows back down, you're done. If the
engine does not speed up, or quits, then it is too lean; richen
the needle some more.

6) Now throttle back to idle; let the engine idle for a couple
minutes.

7) Now perform another pinch test. This time pinch and hold the
line. The engine will want to speed up and die. If it speeds up
immediately, it's too lean, richen the low speed needle. It
should take 4-6 seconds to speed up and begin to die. Any longer
and it's too rich.

8) Also check the throttle transition. With the aircraft secured
and engine idling for a couple minutes, advance the throttle
quickly to fully open. If the engine hesitates, the low speed
mixture is too rich.

I have seen a career coach wearing an outfit that is more suitable for an artist. Their images are not congruent with their professions.Your image is not just about you. It's about how people relate to the image. Your personal image is comprised not only of dressing and grooming, but also your body language and words. That being said, people do judge others based on how they groom and dress.So how can we all make the best use of clothing and grooming for the good of our businesses?First, consider the message of colours. The more conservative or formal your industry is, the more neutral the colour of your outfit should be. Neutral colours are black, grey, white, beige, and brown. Blue is also considered a "neutral" colour in this sense, because it conveys trust. Banking, law, accounting, and insurance belong to this category of conservative.On the other hand, the more creative your industry is, the more colour options you have. If you are an artist, you may wear just about any colour. For professional designers and consultants, however, you may wear pops of colours but in strategic places, for example, in your tops, in the small details of a suit, or in accessories such as glasses.Second, consider the style of your outfit. The more conservative or formal the occasion is, the more formal the outfit should be. Do remember putting on make up, however, but leave out the sparkles and bold colours. People need to see you, not focused on the extremities of your dressing and grooming. For those who are in between conservative and creative, you may have slightly more outrageous hairdos – just don't dye it in any colours of the rainbow. Your make up may be bolder, but be sure it is sophisticated, not cheap. For those creative ones, do whatever you wish, but use your common sense to keep everything neat and clean looking, even if your hair is green.Last but not least, what about personal style? I can just feel some readers having this question in their minds – do they have to give up individuality and take up what is appropriate? I can almost hear some women who are in law or finance, saying that they love purple and pink, and refuse to give them up. So what can they do about it? This is where you must use creativity and common sense – for those who refuse to live without pink, maybe a soft pink blush or lipstick, very soft pink nail polish, or a very light icy pink shirt would do! common place in the UK to hear of zero per cent credit cards.
Brought about by fierce competition, both from UK and American
lenders, and also by historically low interest rates, zero per
cent credit cards have become extremely popular. Today, it is
almost impossible to find a lender that does not offer some form
of zero percent credit card. They simply have to if they want to
compete in the business as it is run today. However, before you
start signing up for a zero per cent credit card, you should be
aware that there are different types of zero per cent card and
you will need to be aware of what it is you want to use the card
for before you decide which type is right for you.

The first thing to consider is cash advances. These are
typically charged at higher than normal interest rates and it is
still extremely unusual to find a credit card that will give you
a cash advance at zero per cent. So if you are looking for zero
per cent cash, then it is unlikely that a credit card is going
to give it to you.

Zero per cent purchases however, is something you might have a
better chance of getting. There are now a number of cards on the
market place that offer customers zero percent on new purchases.
So if you would like to for example buy something large and
expensive, and cannot get a good financing deal to fund the
purchase, then perhaps buying it on a zero per cent on purchases
credit card would be a good way to go. You will be charged no
interest at all, and will have the entire interest free period,

Probably the most common form of zero per cent for a credit
purchase is on balance transfers. So if you find yourself paying
a lot of interest on existing credit card balances, then you
could look into transferring this balance onto a new credit card
that offers you zero percent to do so. This has the potential of
saving you hundreds of pounds in interest payments.

Finally, if you are one of those customers that is in the habit
of paying off your credit card bill in full every month, then
you will not need a zero per cent card at all. This is because
you already pay no interest. In this case you would be better of
looking for a card that offers some cash back or other form of
reward rather than a zero per cent interest.

How to Make a Child's Handprint on a Ceramic Tile

This is a fun craft to do with a group of moms and their kids, one child per adult works the best. Each mom will need:---One soft brush, any size but 1/2" works the best---One jar of "One-Stroke Ceramic underglaze", either Duncan E-Z Stroke or Gare One-Stroke. (Of course they can share these, but it's best if they have at least 3 colors to choose from. The best are a dark green, a dark blue or a dark brown. One jar of each color will do 50 hands altogether)---One pint jar of "clear gloss glaze", which all can use.---A sponge---Paper towels and a washcloth---One blank UNglazed ceramic tile, 4-1/4" (for kids 2 or 3 yrs. old or so) or 6" (for kids over 3) Unless you know someone who does hand-painted tile as a career, these would have to be ordered in cases of 100 or so. The best thing is to call the hobby ceramic stores, where you will get the underglaze and clear glaze, and ask if they have a "molded greenware or bisque tile they sell", and order the quantity you need. Tell them you would like them "fired to bisque."The most important thing is that the childrens' hands are scrubbed with soap and water, then dried well. Salt, sugar or oils on the hands will prevent the glaze from bonding with the tile. Make sure to wipe the tile well with a clean sponge in plain water. Allow to dry a few minutes.Tell the kids that it is like hand-painting only without wiggling their fingers. Make it fun, some get scared. Hold their clean hand gently over a tile to make sure their hand will fit, fingers spread out a little. Pick the right size tile and paint one wet coat of glaze across the flat of their open palm, not too runny but not too dry, follwing the instructions for mixing on the bottle. Try to keep their fingers from touching, the more still they keep their hand, the better the clarity. A good print will show fingerprints! But if it smears, it usually does, it's all for fun anyway. If it starts to become a battle with the child, let him go, when he sees the other kids having a good time he will offer his hand to be painted. (I say "he" because it is usually the boys that wimp out, the girls are more adventurous. lol)Make sure the paint goes all the way to the ends of the fingers and thumb and press the hand straight down onto the surface of the tile, quickly but gently and firmly, rolling the fingers slightly so the print doesnt look like skeleton fingers lol. Lift the hand straight up and see how cool! Wash their hands with soap, the paint is water soluable and non-staining, but dont let them lick it. With a fine brush, write the child's name and date or birthday or age right on the tile. Set it in a safe place to dry well.If you are nervous about smearing the dry glaze, have them fired at "cone 04" before painting the clear gloss on top. This is the proper way, but if the underglaze is good and dry and you are very careful, it is ok to put the clear glaze on unfired underglaze and fire the tile once at "cone 06" and the results will be the same. Either way, get the large floppy brush again and paint 3 thin coats of clear gloss on the tile and fire to "cone 06".You can buy frames from most ceramic stores that sell the tiles. Stool Softener Laxatives - Emollients

Stool softeners and emollients work by absorbing water into the fecal matter. This makes the fecal matter softer so it can pass easier through your colon and out the rectum. Two of the chemicals used in stool softener laxatives are docusate sodium and docusate calcium.

Dont use these types of laxatives since they have chemicals that can produce side effects. Docusate sodium has been found to increase the toxicity of drugs when taken at the same time. In addition, they affect liver function.

You can find some of these laxatives at your local drugstore under the names,

* Colace contains docusate sodium

* Dialose contains docusate sodium

* Surfak contains docusate calcium

Other products that contain docusate sodium and docusate calcium are:

* Senokot-S, Correctol 50 plus, Fleet Stool Softener, Phillips Liquid-Gel

Avoid using docusate with mineral oil since this increases the chances of absorbing some mineral oil into the body. Mineral oil in the body tissues can form tumors.

Pregnant women should avoid using this type of laxative.

Lubricants Stool Softeners

Lubricants stimulate a bowel movement by coating your colon walls and fecal matter. These lubricants also help keep water in the fecal matter, preventing them from becoming hard and difficult to pass through your colon and rectum. One such lubricant is Mineral oil (not recommended)

Avoid laxatives that contain mineral oils. These oils can cause a pneumonia that is difficult to clear. They interfere with intestinal absorption of food nutrients, and fat-soluble vitamins, like vitamin A, and collect in the lymph nodes when used often.

Mineral oil is not a food. It coats food and prevents it from being digested and prevents absorption of vitamins and nutrients.

Dale Alexander, author of Arthritis Common Sense, 1981, reminds us that,

Crude mineral oil was discovered, by Indians, on top of stagnant water in the oil fields. Today, mineral oil is refined into pure from petroleum. Refineries could not sell mineral oil for automobile use, so their representatives educated people to pour it into their bodies. Just the way mineral oil does not pass qualifications for a car carburetor, it forms puddles of useless oil in your intestinal loops.

Mineral oil passes from the mouth, all the way through your colon, and out the rectum without being absorbed. However, it sometimes passes through the intestinal walls in small amounts and poses a health hazard in the body. It also leaks out of the rectum, if too much is used.

Some of the lubricant drugstore laxatives are:

* Alin plus phenolphthalein

* Dioctyl sodium sulfosucciante a detergent type substance that lowers the surface tension of your colon walls and fecal matter.

* Docusate potassium

* Magnesium hydroxide brings in more water into your colon. When too much is taken, it can create embarrassment for you.

* Osmolak plus lactulose (lactulose is a synthetic sugar that pulls water out of the body and into your colon to soften stools.)

* Sokol plus mineral oil

Dioctyl sodium Sulfosucciante belongs to a family of chemicals that reduces the surface tension of the fecal matter in your colon allowing water and fat to penetrate and make the fecal matter softer. These chemicals are known as,

* Dioctyl sodium succiante (also known as docusate sodium)

* Dioctyl potassium succinate (also known as docusate potassium)

* Dioctyl calcium succinate (also know as docusate calcium)

If you are pregnant, do not use mineral oil or other oils to get relief from constipation. During pregnancy you need good absorption of minerals and nutrients to provide for your newborn. Excessive use of mineral oil during pregnancy can cause bleeding in newborns.

In her book, Linda Clarks Handbook of Natural Remedies for Common Ailments, Linda writes about mineral oil,

The message has finally got through to the public and the medical profession that mineral oil is one of the most damaging of all laxatives. It robs the body of Vitamins A, D, E, K: interferes with absorption of calcium and phosphorus, and can actually lead to other diseases.
